Writing Project Template : Teacher's Perspective

Why is it cool?

You very likely already have instructions and guidelines ready (as PDF, PPTX, or on your website), that help your students to learn and perform academic writing. Adding this information to the Mentafy writing assistant will allow:

    • … students always have the information handy and right where they work on their academic paper.

    • … less basic supervisory work for yourself, reducing the workload and making room for more in-depth paedagogical supervision.

A writing project consists of different phases – roughly from finding a topic over research to actually writing the text and formatting for the final submission (particularly for quantitative work, a lot of phases are added in-between like experimental design, data collection, data analysis, etc.). For each phase, there are specific tips&tricks to help the student within that phase. In Mentafy’s template, your guidelines and requirements are being communicated and enriched by generic tools&tips from our end for added value.

  • Usability
    • Student are provided with a list of templates, where they pick the one, that is suitable for their writing project.

      • Example: Provide a .pdf-collection example or websites, which you would normally provide your students with. We will use them to create the template information.

  • Technical
    • Provide Mentafy with your guidelines and requirements (e.g. PDF, PPTX, etc.), with which you normally instruct your students with. Next, Mentafy will convert them to a writing project template, for you to review. After this review, it will be available for your students.
