Import and Work on Your Project Using Mentafy
If you’re a student who has drafted your project in MS Word or Google Docs with Autosave enabled (cloud storage), follow these simple steps to upload your work to Mentafy:
- Sign in to Mentafy: Log in to your Mentafy account to get started.
- Access the “Create New” Option: On the homepage, locate and click the “Create New” tile. Then, select “Import Document” from the menu.
- Select Your Document: The file picker will appear. Browse and select your .docx file from your cloud storage.
- Create Your Project: Once the file is chosen, click “Create Project” to complete the upload process.
Once the project is imported, you can choose to continue writing and refining your content, address any source alerts flagged during the import process, or close the project to generate and access a comprehensive report.
Sharing Your File with Your Teacher
To share your file with your teacher, you can easily retrieve a link from either Google Drive or OneDrive and send it to them. Here’s how to do it for each:
Steps to Retrieve a Link from Google Drive:
- Open Google Drive and locate the file you wish to share.
- Open the file and click on the “Share” button.
- Adjust the sharing settings by adding the people or groups you want to share with.
- Enter your teacher’s email address in the designated field and click “Send” to share the link.
Steps to Retrieve a Link from OneDrive:
- Open OneDrive and locate the file you want to share.
- Right-click on the file and select “Share.”
- Click the settings icon to adjust the sharing settings, and choose “People you choose.”
- Enter your teacher’s email address and click “Send” to share the file with them.
By following these steps, you’ll easily share your project file with your teacher for review.
What Do You See After Importing Your Project?
Once your project is imported into Mentafy, you have two options:
1. Continue Writing
You can keep working on your project, receiving real-time feedback and support from Mentafy to ensure authenticity. This feature helps you improve your document while upholding academic integrity.
Steps to Start Writing:
In the Project Overview > Dashboard, click on the file name or choose either the “Web” or “Desktop” icon to open the file on your desired platform.

2. Get a Report
If you’re ready to finalize your document, you can choose to close the project and access the final analysis by clicking on “To Report” from top right of your screen.
