Writting Pattern Analysis

AI-Detection that works: Based on the academic discipline ‘digital forensics’, there are clear indicators for a human-written text versus a copied or copy-typed text. You can review this in our dynamic in-text report.

Understanding and Categorizing Suspicious Writing Patterns

At Mentafy, we don’t just identify suspicious writing patterns, we also categorize them to provide clearer context.

Some patterns, like large blocks of citations, may indicate copy-pasting, but are entirely acceptable when properly attributed. Similarly, AI-generated text isn’t inherently problematic if the author includes a citation and relevant chat history that demonstrates meaningful human input. Another common pattern is AI-revised text, where we detect that a human-authored draft—with core ideas already in place—was significantly edited using AI. Transparency and proper attribution are key to distinguishing acceptable use from misconduct.
